January 1, 2009

What a way to end 2008 and begin 2009. A total of 45 people join us in celebrating the old year out and the new year in. It all started with a late supper of blackeye peas and collar greens and good ol' corn bread muffins. After supper, we observed communion and foot washing and then everyone went up stairs to sing to the glory of God. We were blessed to have Sandy and Clarence from Hartselle to be with us. I want to thank Bro. Steve Snow for doing an outstanding job in moderating the service.

We want to wish Cindy Corbin and CiCi Beard a Big Happy Birthday.

Congradulations to Herschell Galbreath for killing a deer on the last day of the year.

God bless everyone and a Happy New Year.

Today was a beautiful day in the Lord, even tho the temperature was cold outside, the spirit of the Lord warmed the house as God's children praise the Lord.

We were glad to have Carol Jordan's daughter and her husband with us this morning. Sister Carol was just flowing over with joy as they surprise her by being in service with her.

After service a couple came by and said they were looking for a church to attend. We talked for several minutes and we're looking forward to Tina and Horace Burks being with us Wednesday night in our youth service.

Please pray for Shirley Boyd. I visited with Shirley after service Sunday night and she will be having surgery in the morning.

Continue to keep Emily Fink in your prayers, her father will be buried Monday.

I want to thank every one for their love and support that you show to Robert and me. We are very blessed to be a part of the church family at Tarrant.

Last night, we enter into December with a Christmas party for the youth. They were served a sit down meal and later played games. They were all excited as they left to go home last night.
