A Great Beginning

What a way to start of your church service...
In the city, it is not unusal for someone to walk in and ask for a handout, but this morning was different.  Before church even started, a man in his 40's walked in and instead of asking for money, he said I want to turn my life around.  With Deacons Wideman & Wynn, Associate Pastor Kevin, and myself led him to the altar where he gave his heart to the Lord.  He tried to give us money, but we told him salvation was free.  God is still in the saving business.  Praise the Lord.

Notes from the Pastor

This morning before church began, a man who looked to be in his 40's walked in.  After a few minutes,   he started talking to Kevin, our associate pastor. A thought cross my mind, he wants a handout.  But, instead of asking for money, he said he wanted to change his life.  Deacons Wideman & Wynn, Kevin and myself, led him to the altar where he knelt down and gave his heart to the Lord.  To God be the glory.

We welcome Ruth Lewis from Dothan.  Ruth has moved to Birmingham to be close to her daughter.  I met Sister Ruth at the State Convention.  She said she had been praying for a church close by.  Isn't God just great Sister Ruth only lives 5 minutes from my house.

We welcome Twanda Franklin to our church membership.  Twanda has been attended Tarrant for about 2 years.  She has proven to be a blessings.
